One year, One bag of garbage

Stacey Vandermeer, along with her husband Matt and two children, produced just one bag of trash for an entire year. They recycled, composted and changed their buying habits to produce less waste.A family of four near Kitchener Ontario has succeeded in producing a single bag of garbage over the course of a year. The Vandermeer family began the challenge in response to the discovery of the low participation rates and high costs of the region’s Green Bin program.
